The PowerDVD interface also allows you to create playlists, add descriptive metadata, and organize media files. You can cast videos to Apple TV, Roku, FireTV, and Chromecast devices and play videos on the PowerPlayer app for Android and iOS.

You can browse lists of media files and play them from the computer, connected devices, or remote online locations through the CyberLink Cloud service. The user interface provides options for playing movies, video, and music files on your PC or on your TV through the application's built-in TV Mode. PowerDVD supports Ultra HD 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD videos, and many other multimedia formats, such as H.264, MP4, MOV, MKV, FLV, VOB, AVI, MP3, AAC, JPEG, and PNG. The application is available in Standard, Ultra, and 365 (subscription) editions. It also provides media management tools, which include searching, browsing, and online sharing features.

Even then it doesn't make much sense since most laptops don't even have ODDs anymore.PowerDVD is an advanced movie and media player used for playing Ultra HD 4K, Blu-ray, DVD, and 3D movies. I'm guessing it's just so it can be featured on some new higher-end laptops with 4K screens. It's pretty strange they even bothered with PC at all. The irony is I'm thinking the main people that will be interested in putting together a compatible machine for UHD playback are going to be the ones trying to crack it-so they have a platform to work and test with. Just get a cheap standalone you can get or an Xbone S and call it a day instead. I think for UHD-BD it's really pretty futile to use a PC. However it seems everyone already knows about the crazy/particular requirements for UHD playback so.more crickets? :lol:ĭon't get me wrong I still use PDVD (v16) but the popularity of the software is long gone and the restrictive nature of UHD ain't gonna help PDVD gain any! Given this version has an actually-significant new feature in UHD-BD playback you'd think this thread would be more popular. I think it's been that way since version 12-13 or so?. I remember the days when a new version of PDVD would release (7.x, 8, 10) and this thread would have been like 10 pages already.
